We recognize that not everyone is familiar with clinical study trials. This may be your first time interested in participating or you may have previous experience. Whichever the case, we hope this FAQ page helps answer some of your questions to help you feel comfortable and make the right choice. What is clinical research?

Clinical research is medical research that studies people to understand health and disease. Clinical research helps improve the way doctors treat and prevent illness. Click here to learn more about clinical research.

Do I need health insurance?

No. You do not need health insurance to participate in a clinical trial.

Is there a fee to participate in a clinical trial?

No. There is no application fee or cost to participate in our trials.

Do I receive compensation?

Yes. You will receive compensation for participating. Depending on the trial, the frequency and amount will vary.

How do I receive compensation?

Compensation is received by check upon visiting or going to your appointment.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

We understand that you may not have a background in research, medicine, and science so we created a Clinical Glossary page to help you understand the meanings of words used on our CRC website. At any time you need to refer to our glossary, use the menu link on the left hand side of each page to find terms you may be confused about. We hope this creates an easy and comfortable experience browsing our CRC website and benefit you.

How do I get to the CRC when I am inside the building?

From the main lobby of the C.S. Mott Center, follow the hallway next to the main administrative office opposite of the elevators. Turn down the first hallway to the left and you will be in the CRC lobby. There, you will find Elizabeth Paton at the front desk.

Where do I park my car?

The building parking lot (lot 57) is reserved and gated for WSU students, faculty, and staff. There is metered street parking available in front of the main entrance of the building. Please do not park at CVS. That parking lot is a privately owned business property and is known to tow non-CVS customers cars.
