Eligibility

High school students

The program is open to rising seniors at least 16 years of age. Students are enrolled in the program during the summer between the junior and senior year in high school.

Undergraduate students

The program is also open to undergraduate students from Wayne State University and any other college/university. The program runs from June – August.

Application Process

Download and fill out the two forms down below (High School Application Form 2024 and Teach Evaluation 2024).

  1. Fill up the High School Application form and save as FirstName_LastName.pdf.
  2. Have your teacher or councilor fill up the Teacher Evaluation Form and save as FirstName_LastNameTE.pdf.
  3. Please ask your teacher/councilor to send the filled out application form and teacher evaluation form to alyssa.alday@wayne.edu – subject line LastName_DTC HS Application 2024.

No hard copies will be accepted. Please do not attach any other files to the application (no SAT/ACT scores, no report cards, etc.)

All application forms should be sent by April 5, 2024.

Mentors, Housing and Visa Application

The program is unable to provide housing or transportation. These arrangements must be made by the interns on their own. For international students, an acceptance letter can be sent to use for a Visa application. However, the program is unable to provide assistance for Visa processing.
